We all have those days when we are craving something sweet. There are healthy options that will still taste so creamy and yummy, but unlike refined and processed sugar and dairy it fills you up and will add plenty of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and fibers to your food plus it won´t mess with your metabolism or insulin levels.
Mix together in a blender for 2 large servings:
2 large glasses of coconut cream
2 dl frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
5-10 pitted dates (I used 10 madjool dates)
2 teaspoons of grounded organic vanilla powder
Note: Add some more coconut cream if too thick
Optional: Add some vanilla protein powder for that extra protein boost.
Dates are very high in potassium and rich in fibers, but will still bring that sweetness that you want when you´re craving something sweet.
Blueberries are rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and potassium but yet low in calories.
Coconut cream are a great natural substitute for dairy since I don´t eat any dairy products at all. This smoothie is free of processed sugars, gluten, and dairy, therefore it´s also vegan friendly.
